192.168.1.1

192.168.1.1 is one of the most popular IP addresses for routers. It’s used to enter in web-interface which also known as admin panel. There are a lot of different IP addresses except 192.168.l.l. For example, 10.0.0.1, 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.2. These addresses are usually called as host addresses.

192.168.1.1 web-interface (admin panel) and its meaning

Web-interface is one of the most important things that you should know about your router. Here is a lot settings that you can set up. The most of them responsible for your network’s security. 21st century is age with active IT progress, so there are a lot of cyber hackers, who want to steal your personal information and use it in selfish goals.

192.168.1.1 IP address is used in Lynksys routers too, so let’s consider how to enter in web-interface with this IP and configure some settings.

How to login in 192.168.l.l web-interface?

Every Lynksys router has special web-based setup pages which you can use to change some setting and set up advanced configurations.

First step:

You need open your web-browser (Google Chrome, Opera, Internet Explorer). It’s not important which browser you prefer, but don’t forget about danger of downloading web-browser from third party web-sites.

Second step:

Here you need find address line and enter your router’s IP. As was typed above, Lynksys routers use 192.168.1.1 as default address. Press enter.

If you don’t like this address as default, manufacturers developed some ways of changing it.

The easiest ways of changing IP address:

  • You can change router’s IP address by launching special setup CD.
  • You can change it by using web-interface.

What if I forget changed IP address?

People’s memory isn’t perfect, so there are some situations when we forget important information. Changed IP address isn’t exception. Don’t worry — here you can find some methods:

  • To find out your change address, you can check it by special methods.
  • You can press RESET button at backside of router and hold it for about 30 seconds. This process is called Router resetting.

Note: After resetting, you router will be returned to factory defaults. All setting will be cleared. Router’s IP address will become 192.168.1.1 again and identification information (login and password) will be both «admin».
Note: You should be sure that resetting is necessary process, because it’s not recommended doing it in other situation. After resetting, all changes that were made will restore to factory defaults.

Third step:

Then here should appears login window where you need to enter your username and passkey. They should be both «admin» as default.

Note: If identification information were changed, type the newest login and passkey. If you forget your router’s identification information, you need reset router. Instruction how to do it, you can find above.
Note: All default router passkeys, IP addresses, usernames can be found in special list on our website. List was made not only for Lynksys owners.
